National Black Pro-Life Coalition: Educational Forum Sept. 21

On Friday, September 21, Congressman Allen West and the National Black Pro-life Coalition held an education forum on the issue of abortion in the black community. An amazing panel of speakers exposed many truths and myths about abortion, particularly as it affects the black community. Bart Waxman represented the Law of Life Project at the forum and was encouraged by the presentations. “The panel did a great job of detailing the ways in which abortion is more than a moral issue but an issue of economics and health as well and that its negative effects are far greater in the black community than anywhere else in America. It is hard to understand why the party that supports abortion is also the party that maintains a loyal voting block in the black community. If that is ever to change it will be thanks to black leaders like those here at this forum.”

The panel included Ryan Bomberger, Founder of the Radiance Foundation; Stephen Broden, Sr. Pastor of the Fairpark Bible Church; Dr. Freda Bush, MD of the Medical Institute; Catherine Davis, President of the Restoration Project; Day Gardner, President of the Black Prolife Union; Rev. Walter Hoye, President of the Issues4LifeFoundation; Rev. Dean Nelson, VP of Underserved Outreach for CareNet and Chairman of the Frederick Douglass Foundation; and Dr. Alveda C. King, Director of African American Outreach for Priests for Life and niece of the great civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. If anyone would like more information on the work of any of these speakers or would like to get in touch with them, email for more information. The Radiance Foundation has launched a website to “expose Planned Parenthood's history of eugenic racism and its present unaltered course”. They have released many great short videos that get to the heart of the problems discussed at the forum. We encourage you to view and share these videos.
